KRUELTY had only just released their first full-length in March 2020 when they returned with this new EP. The pandemic period was widely called “quarantine time” overseas, and many metal and hardcore bands used it to write and release new material. KRUELTY chose to re-record two older songs and add one cover. The two originals come from the split “The Beginning to the End,” a recording that had been completed under a tight schedule; here, both songs return with significantly more polish. The cover comes from GRAVE, one of the Swedish death metal bands that form part of KRUELTY’s roots, rearranged in the band’s own style. The cleaner production that stood out on the recent full-length is deliberately pushed aside here in favor of a much stronger ’90s death metal feel. Mixing was again handled by Taylor Young, while mastering was done by Nick Townsend, known for his work with NAILS and others. The LP edition is released by Creator Destructor Records in the US, while DSR handles the CD. Standard jewel case. The first 100 copies came with an embroidered patch.
