A miraculous Japanese release from Swedish doom/death originators Runemagick, active since the early 1990s. Daniel Rudolfsson’s unmistakable style is in full force. Runemagick have operated in the Swedish underground since the early ’90s. Their 2018 full-length receives its first domestic Japanese release through DSR. Compared with the style of their older Century Media-era material, the band has shifted much further toward doom, with a deeper and more immersive production. Even so, the razor-sharp riffs scattered throughout remain intact, resulting in an album capable of pulling the listener completely into its abyssal world. This Japanese edition has been remixed and remastered specifically for the release, making it worth checking even for those who already own the overseas CD. FFO: Hooded Menace, Coffins, Mortiferum.
