Formed in summer 2021 and active throughout the Tokyo metropolitan area, View From The Soyuz return with a new EP. After releasing only through streaming following their first EP, this marks their first physical format in some time. The songs are highly developed, covering everything from Slayer-style string-skipping riffs and tremolo work reminiscent of ’90s edge metal to melancholic lead guitars that draw from melodic death metal. The result spans the full range from new-school hardcore to contemporary metalcore. The record was produced and recorded by member NARI, with mastering handled by Will Hirst, highly regarded in the US hardcore scene. The overall sound pushes modern production to the front while retaining just enough roughness to feel completely at home in hardcore — an exceptionally well-balanced result. On track 3, “When My World Collapse,” SENTA, vocalist of Tokyo hardcore mainstay NUMB, appears as a guest. 5 tracks. Standard jewel case.
