The long-awaited first KRUELTY release since 2023’s “Untopia,” and the first recording from the new lineup with ZUMA on guitar and vocals. Beginning with this release, the band moved to US label Closed Casket Activities, a decision made with an eye toward expanding their activity in North America, the world’s largest market for the band’s scene. Across the four-track EP, KRUELTY make active use of blast beats that had been intentionally held back on earlier releases, pointing clearly toward a new direction for the band. Artwork was created by renowned Japanese hardcore-punk illustrator SUGI. The lyrics are also almost entirely in Japanese, emphasizing that even while competing on a global stage, the band has no intention of reshaping itself simply to accommodate others. Recording and mixing were once again handled by Taylor Young. Because his new studio had not yet been completed, the drums were recorded at a private studio owned by a member of Foo Fighters. Mastering was handled by Nick Townsend, with separate masters created for the CD, LP, cassette and digital formats. Jewel case with obi. Preorders placed through the store originally included a sticker featuring the cover artwork.
