2023年末ごろに東京にて結成された期待のニューカマーことKING KILL。パワーヴァイオレンス風味かつモッシーなハードコアを軸とするスタイルで精力的に活動している彼らの1st EPがついにドロップ！ Weekend Nachos や Cave State からの影響を公言する通りRAWでドス黒いサウンドが彼らの強みであり、モダンなハードコアパンクやオールドスクールなパワーヴァイオレンスどちらのファン層にもアピールできる内容である。グラインドではなくあくまでもパワーヴァイオレンスを感じるブラストビートの入れ方とモダンハードコア寄りのギターフレーズの対比が非常に面白い。そしてこのスタイルにしっかりマッチする低音が効いたボーカルも文句なしである。ボーカルを中心に聴くと、ストップ&ゴーを繰り返す極悪系ハードコアという捉え方もできる非常に振り幅が広く完成度の高い音源だ。 なお、5/10(土)に東京 新大久保アースダムにてリリースショウがあるので是非足を運んでみてほしい。 Tracklist 1. ///// 2. KING KILL are a promising newcomer formed in Tokyo around the end of 2023. Their first EP finally drops after a period of intense activity built around a mosh-heavy hardcore style with a strong powerviolence flavor. As the band openly cite Weekend Nachos and Cave State as influences, their greatest strength is a raw, pitch-black sound that should appeal equally to fans of modern hardcore punk and old-school powerviolence. The contrast is especially striking between blast beats that feel unmistakably powerviolence rather than grind and guitar phrases rooted in modern hardcore. Low, heavy vocals fit the style perfectly. Listen from the vocal perspective and the band can even be heard as vicious stop-and-go hardcore, which shows just how wide a range this remarkably complete recording covers.
