福岡を拠点とする日本が誇るメタリックハードコア、universe last a ward が 2nd album をドロップ！ 九州は福岡のハードコアバンド、universe last a wardが6年ぶりとなるアルバム「Ride with Us」をリリース。「Ride with Us」というタイトルは、このアルバムでシーンの仲間たちを共に次のステップに連れて行きたいというuniverse last a wardなりの気合の現れである。肝心のサウンドはulaw節全開のメタリックなハードコアサウンドを基調とし、ストレートでスポーティなリフワーク、タフなビートダウンはもちろん、忘れてはいけない彼らがORIGINALたる所以である随所の耽美的メロディーは今作においても冴え渡って いる。そしてこのあたりの複数の要素の絶妙なブレンドが前作「N.9.S.」より更にブラッシュアップされている。 日常で生まれる苦悩や葛藤、居場所を共有できる仲間たちとの思い出をベースに書かれたリリックは、これまでのリリースにも 共通する叙情的な日本語詞を軸に、思わず縦に首を振りたくなるようなラッピンなテイストのフロウも増え、サウンドとともに更なる進化を遂げている。 そこに数多の共演や日常の遊びの中から選ばれたヴォーカリスト/ラッパーに達よる豪華客演を迎え、極彩色に仕上がったナンバー8曲をパッケージ。さらに地元九州からも、お馴染みのlee(asano+ryuhei)や、長崎から$ELMAなどの気鋭のビートメイカーに、福岡のレジェンドFREEZ氏とお祭り番長YOUTH-K(STARTER/EVOLNATAS)氏による”伝説のタッグ再び“で特に九州ヘッズは待望であろうskit続編も収録、と豪華なトラックも計3曲収録し、universe last a wardならではの組み合わせで九州ストリートの魅力を存分に体感 できる1枚となった。 - 街から街へと届ける、俺らのAnthem - 11曲入り デジパック仕様 - TRACK LIST - 1. Fukuoka metallic hardcore band universe last a ward return with their second album. Six years after their previous album, the Kyushu-based band release “Ride with Us.” The title expresses universe last a ward’s determination to bring the friends and peers around their scene with them into the next step. Musically, the record is built on the metallic hardcore sound that has always defined ULAW: direct, athletic riffing, tough beatdowns, and — crucially — the aesthetic, almost decadent melodies that make the band unmistakably original. The balance among those elements has been refined even further since the previous album, “N.9.S.” The lyrics draw on everyday pain and conflict as well as memories shared with the friends who provide a sense of belonging. The emotional Japanese-language writing familiar from the band’s earlier work remains central, but there is now more rap-influenced flow that practically demands a head nod, showing an evolution in the vocals alongside the music. Eight full songs are joined by a wide range of guest vocalists and rappers selected from the band’s many live connections and everyday friendships. Three additional tracks expand the record even further with contributions from Kyushu: familiar collaborator lee (asano+ryuhei), up-and-coming Nagasaki beatmaker $ELMA, and a long-awaited continuation of the skit featuring Fukuoka legend FREEZ together with festival instigator YOUTH-K (STARTER / EVOLNATAS) — the return of a legendary pairing for Kyushu heads.
