In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced countless bands and artists to halt their activities, Taylor Young — one of the central figures in the US hardcore scene — launched a new project. With the exception of mastering, he handled almost everything himself. True to the project’s slogan, “STRICTLY DEATH METAL,” ZOUS delivers fully realized old-school death metal. Anyone into the fast-to-mid-tempo death metal of Bolt Thrower or Benediction should absolutely pay attention. The result is high-quality death metal that has completely outgrown the idea of a mere demo. Limited pressing of 100 copies.
