横浜 ドゥーム / グラインド / デスメタル / ハードコア CAILN。2016年に叙情 / 激情 ハードコア WITHIN THE LAST WISHのメンバーを中心に結成。グラインド / パワーヴァイオレンスの要素を盛り込んだ激情的なメタリックハードコアのスタイルで勢力的に活動。2020年に初となるアルバム「 纏う 」をbandcampにてデジタル配信のみにてリリース。その後オリジナルドラマーが活動休止、新たに RiTTLE BOY / MAKESHIFT のRYOをドラマーに迎え、更にEND OF LIFEのMIYAMOの加入にてツインギター編成となる。これにより今作「The Essence of Ruthlessness」では以前よりのドゥーム / デスメタル色を感じるリフワーク、そしてグラインド要素を残しつつも、よりグルーブを重視したスタイルへと進化を遂げた。その分往年の激情ハードコアから来る、感情に訴えかけてくるようなフレーズは息を潜め、冷酷で容赦のないアグレッションをひたすらに重視。リリースライブ も控えており、今後の精力的な活動は要注目である。 ミックスおよびマスタリングは東京のDevu Recording Studio にて。 全7曲入り、通常ジュエルケース仕様

CAILN are a Yokohama doom / grind / death metal / hardcore band. They formed in 2016 around members of emotional hardcore band WITHIN THE LAST WISH, developing an intense metallic hardcore style that incorporated grind and powerviolence. In 2020 they released their first album, “Matou,” digitally through Bandcamp. After the original drummer went on hiatus, RYO of RiTTLE BOY / MAKESHIFT joined on drums, followed by MIYAMO of END OF LIFE, expanding the band to a twin-guitar lineup. With “The Essence of Ruthlessness,” the doom- and death-metal-influenced riffing becomes even more pronounced. The grind element remains, but the band has evolved toward a style that puts greater emphasis on groove. As a result, the emotionally charged phrases inherited from classic screamo and passionate hardcore retreat into the background, replaced by a relentless focus on cold, merciless aggression.
